Homemade Uncrustables

Homemade Uncrustables is not necessarily a recipe, just an idea.

My method of making these sandwiches is a little different. My main goal is to utilize the entire piece of bread. I want to use every inch. Nothing to waste.

Start by getting out a stack of bread.

Peanut butter and jelly. I used our Homemade Strawberry Jam.

The key to keeping your sandwiches from getting soggy is to slather peanut butter on both slices of bread. It forms a barrier so, the jelly does not seep through and soak the bread.

Jelly or Jam time!

Use a large cup or glass and lay it on top of your sandwich.

Side note** Pampered Chef makes a gadget that crimps the edges of the sandwich. It makes some pretty sandwiches. The sandwiches are sooo cute, but just not very big. If you have little ones, it would be perfect My kids are not little any more, so..I need to make their sandwiches a little bigger.

Mash down really hard and scrap the edges/ crust away from sandwich.

Oh...they are full of gooey goodness.

Put them on a cookie sheet and flash freeze. When sandwiches are frozen, put them in baggies and store in freezer for future use.

What a great way to help prepare for the up coming school year! Time saver! Fun for the kids!

Getting ready for school....dishes! Kristi
